This cute fix brought to you by Wannie and Ellie.

Ellie came to us in December, and was immediately adopted into the hearts and lives of the family. We are just watching her, but for an indeterminate amount of time, while her owner family is traveling the country doing missions work. She is such a good dog! She barks loudly at strangers when she is outside, and she sleeps when she is inside. She has endless patience with the littles, a trait which any dog in our family MUST have.

The only thing I have against her is the endless and profuse shedding: but really, my floors needed more frequent sweeping and vacuuming anyway, right?

Pumpkin Disposal Dec 4, 2010

I remember that the first snow was quite early last year, and continued through December -- unusual for this part of Ohio.

We never did end up carving those four pumpkins we bought, so the guys threw them outside, and to our surprise, the deer loved them, and ate them all up.

I guess we should not have been surprised: the deer eat everything up!

They are so cute, but seriously: GO AWAY! ;-)

Bert and New Couches

Knowing we were going to host Christmas last year, we finally came to the decision that we must buy some new couches. Most of the furniture is hand-me-downs, which is wonderful! But, the couch situation was pretty miserable, and also, I got a really good deal.

Bert was the first person to really get into the new-couch experience. As soon as the couches hit the floor, he hit a couch, book in hand, with the generous afternoon sunshine streaming in through the window.

It was a good idea, all around.
